Technical Documentation Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Documentation Engineer to develop and maintain clear, accurate technical documents and engineering drawings that support manufacturing, quality and operations. The successful candidate will create SOPs and work instructions, produce and revise AutoCAD drawings, and document processes and standards to ensure consistency, compliance and usability across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

- Create, review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, assembly guides and maintenance procedures for production and engineering teams

- Develop and update AutoCAD drawings (2D and/or 3D as required) to support product, tooling and process documentation

- Document process flows, control points and technical standards; translate engineering information into user-friendly documentation

- Maintain document control practices: versioning, revision history, approvals and distribution

- Collaborate with engineering, quality, production and R&D to capture accurate technical information and implement documentation changes

- Ensure documentation complies with relevant internal policies and external standards (e.g., quality management system requirements)

- Support training efforts by producing supporting materials and participating in knowledge-transfer activities

Required skills and experience

- Proven experience producing SOPs, work instructions and technical manuals in an engineering or manufacturing environment

- Proficiency in AutoCAD with a demonstrable portfolio of drawings

- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely

- Experience documenting processes and standards and managing document control workflows

- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management

- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally and manage stakeholder review cycles

Desirable

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, Industrial Technology or related field

- Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001 or industry-specific regulations

- Experience with document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, PLM, or QMS software)

- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and shop-floor practices
