We are currently looking for a Support Officer for our Canterbury based client.

Working hours: Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00 In order to maintain service delivery, flexibility to work outside of normal office hours will be required.

Pay Rate: £11.00-£11.20 p/hr

What would you be doing?

• Provide intensive, time limited support to people experiencing homelessness to access support services and accommodation
• Support clients with housing related support which may include budgeting, debt management, education, employment, setting up home, neighbour complaints, health and safety, accessing welfare and housing benefit
• Assess the needs of applicants, helping clients to set the type, pace and direction of support received and to choose their activities.

What do you need to be successful?

• A qualification (or equivalent &/or willingness to work towards qualification) in one or more of the following areas:Mental Health, Ex-offenders o Health and Social Care, Drug, Alcohol & Substance misuse
• Experience of working with homeless or vulnerable people
• Experience of working independently with minimal day to day supervision
• Flexibility to regularly work outside of normal office hours (Mon-Fri, 9-5) as required.
• An ability to implement strategies for coping with aggression and minimising risk.
