My client is a Global Manufacturing plant based in the Runcorn area and they are currently seeking an experienced Stores Controller/Planner. Duties will include * Implementation of Management Systems; ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental levels are met * Support manufacturing Improvement and work development plans * Identify the requirements and develop plans for the training and development of staff * Identify improvement opportunities through working with relevant groups * Develop proposals in line with the areas improvement plans * Implement the Works Planning procedure to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation * Agree planned maintenance, down day and shutdown schedules with operations team to ensure continuity of production and maximise plant availability * Produce planned maintenance down day and shutdown work programmes. Determine and organise the necessary resources from within the area, other support functions and externally, to complete the tasks within the time available * Control and manage the equipment life-cycle to enable the correct item to be available when required. Organising the overhaul of all mechanical and electrical spares used within the area * Responsibility for undertaking Management of Change requirements when either the specification of an existing item is changed or a new item is purchased. i.e. risk assessment, drawing revisions and updating of specifications * Develop close links with external suppliers, to ensure that spares are overhauled in a cost-effective manner to agreed quality and delivery requirements * Control and prioritise repairable and non-repairable spares budgets, and monitor usage * Audit the Spares process using the relevant audit system You must have an engineering qualification and a good understanding of planning software.
