Sheet Metal machinery operators required by busy established aerospace parts manufacturing company. The roles involve the use of variety of Sheet metal machinery such as presses, guillotines and saws to assist in the manufacture of aircraft parts. This is a role where reliability, accuracy and attention to detail are essential, working to defined schedules and aerospace quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, lofts, templates and specifications

  • Lay out, measure and mark materials accurately using appropriate tools (squares, rules, dividers, scribes, calculators)

  • Set up and operate fabrication machinery including press brakes, guillotines, folding machines, shears, turret punches, band-saws and presses

  • Cut, bend, form and assemble sheet metal components from layout through to finishing

  • Use hand and power tools for fitting, trimming and finishing work

  • Perform in-process and final quality checks to ensure parts meet tolerances and drawing requirements

  • Maintain accurate production records, escalate issues, and contribute to on-time delivery

  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings and support workplace organisation / improvement projects

  • Follow all health & safety, quality and regulatory requirements; keep a clean and safe work area

Required skills & experience

  • Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication/manufacturing (sheet metal worker/fabricator or similar)

  • Confident reading and working from technical/engineering drawings and specifications

  • Strong experience operating fabrication equipment (press brakes, guillotines, folding machinery, shears, etc.)

  • Competent with measuring equipment and inspection to drawing requirements

  • Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium

  • Practical problem-solving skills and a quality-first mindset

  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and within cross-functional teams

  • Aerospace or automotive manufacturing exposure (and AS9100 familiarity) is desirable
