Senior Service Co-ordinator

Are you an experienced service coordinator with a strong background in forklift truck maintenance and field service operations? We are seeking a Senior Service Co-ordinator to lead and manage the scheduling, delivery and continuous improvement of our forklift truck service activity. This is a hands-on coordination role requiring technical understanding, excellent communication and proven ability to manage engineers, parts, and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

- Coordinate and schedule planned maintenance, preventative service and reactive repairs for forklift truck fleets across multiple sites.

- Manage and prioritise service calls, allocate engineers and resources to meet SLAs and customer requirements.

- Act as primary point of contact for customers regarding service bookings, status updates and escalations.

- Maintain accurate job records, service histories and parts usage in the service management system.

- Monitor inventory of spare parts and consumables; raise purchase requests and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely availability

- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and equipment safety standards; support engineer training and competency checks

Skills and experience required

- Proven experience as a service co-ordinator or similar role specifically coordinating forklift truck service and maintenance activities.

- Strong technical understanding of forklift truck systems (hydraulics, electrical, engines) and common service/repair requirements.

- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage a busy workload

- Experience scheduling field engineers and managing parts logistics.

- Good IT skills; experience with service management systems, MS Office (Excel/Outlook).

- Clear, professional communicator with strong customer service skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and manage escalations effectively.

- Leadership skills with experience mentoring or supervising field technicians.

- Relevant qualifications or trade background in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred; forklift service experience is desirable
