Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Sydney
Salary range $100,000 -124,000 p.a. plus Superannuation and attractive benefits package

The role
With a Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or related degree, you will be an autonomous, hands-on designer who has experience bringing electro-mechanical products to market, with a focus on innovation. The role will involve concept generation, analysis, detailed design, validation and manufacturing implementation. You will exercise your creativity and determination every day as you develop prototypes, place them through rigorous testing and release them for manufacturing when they meet or exceed our client's specifications for performance, quality and safety.

Your Responsibilities
Part and assembly design, from concept to detail design to manufacturing introduction
Detailed mechanical design, using SolidWorks, for a wide range of production fabrication processes in order to optimize performance and cost
Thermal and mechanical simulation modelling using ANSYS then experimental testing of prototypes to verify
Creation of control and test plans for component, sub assembly and product level assessments
Coordination with Industrial Design, Category Managers and the Quality Team to ensure all requirements are met
Working with the internal Engineering Team, including Electrical Engineers and Firmware Engineering Team to integrate electromechanical systems
Collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers and suppliers to transition concepts to production
Creation, management and release of technical documents
Ensuring the design of the product and its performance meet applicable compliance and regulatory standards
Your Experience
Circa 10 years' experience in Mechanical Engineering within a product design and manufacturing environment - all industry sectors considered
Proficiency in CAD modelling, Solidworks experience - highly valued but not required
Strong analysis skills, including structural and thermal, Ansys experience - highly valued but not required
Experience bringing a product or assembly through its entire lifecycle - concept to manufacture
Ability to design for a wide range of fabrication and manufacturing processes
Experience with product and process validation
Detail oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills
