Job Reference: FJ-2ypme
Stoke-on-Trent | £29,000 Basic + £35,000 OTE
This is a sales role first and a management role second.
HRGO Recruitment are working with a well-established retail business to recruit a commercially driven Store Manager to take ownership of the sales performance and day-to-day operation of their Stoke-on-Trent store.
We're looking for someone who is confident selling, comfortable working to targets and experienced in leading a team to deliver results.
This isn't a traditional "sit in the office and manage the store" position. You'll be on the shop floor, leading from the front, generating sales, coaching your team and taking ownership of the store's performance.
Experience within carpets, flooring, beds, furniture or home furnishings would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in strong sales managers from other target-driven environments.
£29,000 basic salary
£33,000 OTE
Performance-related bonus
Personal sales commission
Career progression
Opportunity for business ownership
Company pension
Employee discount
Free on-site parking
As Store Manager, you'll have real responsibility for the commercial performance of the store.
You'll be responsible for:
Driving sales and achieving store targets and KPIs
Leading from the front and actively selling to customers
Managing, motivating and coaching a sales team
Setting clear expectations around individual and team performance
Identifying opportunities to increase revenue and improve conversion
Coaching team members to improve their sales performance
Creating a competitive, energetic and customer-focused sales environment
Managing the day-to-day operation of the store
Managing rotas, holidays and staffing levels
Monitoring sales performance and reporting on KPIs
Delivering excellent customer service and resolving customer issues
Ensuring orders, balances and administration are managed correctly
Maintaining high standards of store presentation
Managing stock accuracy and operational processes
Coordinating independent fitter schedules and monitoring standards
Ensuring company procedures and security standards are followed
We're looking for a sales-driven manager, not simply someone with a retail management title.
You'll ideally have:
Previous experience as a Store Manager, Sales Manager, Branch Manager or similar
Proven experience leading a target-driven sales team
A strong track record of achieving sales targets and KPIs
Confidence selling directly to customers
Experience coaching and developing salespeople
Strong commercial awareness
The ability to analyse performance and identify opportunities
Excellent communication and customer service skills
A competitive and results-driven mindset
The confidence to challenge underperformance and drive accountability
Strong organisation and decision-making skills
The ability to take ownership of the store's performance
Flexibility to work 40 hours per week, including weekends
Full UK driving licence preferred
We're particularly interested in candidates from high-value or target-driven sales environments, including:
Automotive | Furniture | Beds | Flooring | Kitchens | Bathrooms | Home Improvements | Electrical Retail | Telecoms | Estate Agency | Recruitment | Other B2C Sales
Industry experience is useful, but sales leadership experience is essential.
You'll be someone who gets their energy from winning sales, hitting targets and developing people.
You won't be afraid to get on the shop floor and sell yourself. You'll know how to coach a salesperson who is struggling, recognise where additional revenue can be generated and create a team culture where people are motivated to perform.
Most importantly, you'll want to take ownership.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than simply managing a store - you could ultimately have the opportunity to progress towards business ownership.
If you're an experienced Sales Manager, Store Manager, Branch Manager or high-performing sales professional looking for a role where your performance directly impacts your earning potential and progression, we'd like to hear from you.
Apply today with your up-to-date CV and a member of the HRGO Recruitment team will be in touch.
