The Opportunity

An established and expanding manufacturing company is looking to add a Quality Engineer to its team based in Folkestone. The business supports a diverse customer base across sectors such as automotive, aerospace, defence, and electronics, delivering high-specification components.

With continued growth and investment in modern injection moulding and secondary processes, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop within a quality-focused environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out inspection and measurement of components, both new and existing
  • Preparing and submitting documentation including PPAP, PSW, ISIR, and FAIR in line with customer expectations
  • Supporting IMDS data submissions where required
  • Overseeing the approval process for customer submissions
  • Coordinating sample submissions for tooling projects across UK and international suppliers
  • Producing and maintaining clear work instructions
  • Acting as a key link between internal teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Monitoring and reporting on quality metrics on a regular basis
  • Investigating customer concerns and driving corrective actions
  • Performing shop floor inspections including first-off, last-off, and patrol checks
  • Completing incoming and outgoing goods inspections

What We're Looking For

  • Experience using precision measurement equipment such as CMM, optical measurement systems (e.g. shadowgraph), and manual gauges
  • Working knowledge of industry submission standards (PPAP, FAIR, PSW, etc.)
  • Exposure to IMDS processes would be beneficial, though not essential
  • Understanding of problem-solving techniques such as 8D and root cause analysis
  • Strong IT capability, particularly with Microsoft Office tools
  • Background in plastics or injection moulding would be advantageous but isn't required
