Quality Controller

Location: Uckfield
Pay Rate: £13.39 per hour
Working Hours: Monday - Friday (hours may vary)

HRGO Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Quality Controller to join our client's busy food production and co-packing operation in Uckfield.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous quality experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of food safety, quality and traceability.

As a Quality Controller, you will play an important role in ensuring products are manufactured, packed and handled to the required quality and food safety standards. You will work closely with production teams, carry out inspections and checks, maintain accurate records and support the effective management of non-conforming or quarantined stock.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out quality and product checks throughout the production and packing process

  • Complete and maintain accurate quality, inspection and sorting records

  • Ensure products meet the required customer, quality and food safety specifications

  • Work closely with production teams to identify and address quality issues

  • Promote a strong culture of food safety, quality and good manufacturing practices across the site

  • Ensure appropriate documentation and records are maintained and archived accurately

  • Contribute to continuous improvement across production, quality and food safety processes

  • Ensure company procedures and relevant food safety, hygiene and health & safety requirements are consistently followed

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role, ideally within food manufacturing, food production or FMCG

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work

  • Good understanding of quality control processes and product specifications

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confident working closely with production teams

  • Able to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Reliable, flexible and organised

  • A strong commitment to food safety, quality and traceability
