We are seeking a motivated Project Officer to join a busy team focused on securing funding and delivering high-quality projects. The successful candidate will play a central role in developing persuasive business cases and establishing robust systems to monitor project progress and outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and various internal stakeholders to develop and write clear, concise, compelling and competitive business cases for either tender submissions or external funding bids.
  • Design and implement systems for tracking implementation, progress, risks and outcomes, ensuring accurate, timely information is available to project leads and funders.
  • Coordinate bid and submission workflows, managing timelines, documentation, approvals and version control to meet application and tender deadlines.
  • Prepare briefing materials, budget summaries, and impact/value-for-money statements to support funding proposals and internal decision-making.
  • Maintain project records, produce regular status reports and performance dashboards, and identify issues requiring escalation or corrective action.
  • Support stakeholder engagement activities, including workshops, meetings and consultations to gather evidence and refine proposals.

Essential skills and experience

  • Proven experience writing business cases, tender submissions or external funding bids that are clear, compelling and competitive.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with subject matter experts and multiple internal stakeholders to gather information and shape proposals.
  • Demonstrable ability to design and implement practical tracking systems (e.g., project trackers, dashboards, databases) to monitor implementation and report on outcomes.
  • Strong written communication skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce concise, persuasive documents.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills, able to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with project management or database tools is desirable.
