Production Operator - (Rotating Days/Backshift)

Leading manufacturer and distributor of timber garden products (fencing, sheds, garden buildings and structures). We're proud to support our client and sustainable British timber; now recruiting Production Operators to join our Lockerbie operation.

Location

Lockerbie (Stevens Croft), Dumfries & Galloway, DG11

Shift pattern (rotating weekly)

Dayshift: 06:00 - 14:30 (Friday finish 13:30)

Backshift: 16:00 - 00:30 (Friday 13:30 - 21:00)

Pay & contract

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Overtime: May be available during peak periods

What you'll be doing

• Operating production/timber processing equipment safely and efficiently
• Feeding lines, stacking, banding/strapping, labelling and preparing product for the next stage
• Completing quality checks and separating any non-conforming product
• Recording basic production information (output, downtime, checksheets)
• Maintaining housekeeping/5S standards and following all site H&S rules and PPE requirements
• Reporting hazards, near-misses and equipment issues promptly to the Team Leader/Supervisor

What we're looking for

Essential:

• Experience in a production/manufacturing/warehouse environment (or a strong willingness to learn)
• Good attention to detail and ability to work to targets
• A safety-first approach and ability to follow procedures
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work the rotating weekly shift pattern

Desirable:

• Timber/sawmill/wood processing experience
• FLT (Counterbalance) licence (or willingness to train)
