Production Operative
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Production Operative to join a busy workshop. The role involves working with tools and equipment to assemble products, apply vinyl graphics, operate workshop machinery and carry out quality checks to ensure finished items meet required standards. Previous experience within signage, graphics, printing or a similar production setting would be beneficial but is not essential.
Key responsibilities:
- Use hand and power tools safely and accurately to assemble components and finished products
- Apply vinyl graphics and other surface finishes with care and attention to detail
- Operate workshop equipment and machinery in line with safety procedures
- Perform routine quality checks and inspections, recording results and identifying any defects
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workspace, including basic equipment maintenance
- Follow production schedules and instructions to meet deadlines and customer specifications
- Work collaboratively with team members and report any issues to supervisors
Skills and attributes required:
- Practical experience using hand tools and workshop equipment, Machines etc. All rounder.
- Steady hand, good eye for detail and ability to apply vinyl graphics neatly
- Basic understanding of quality checking procedures and an ability to spot defects
- Comfortable working in a production environment with physical tasks and manual handling
- Reliable, punctual and team-oriented with good communication skills
- Willingness to learn new techniques and follow health & safety guidelines
Desirable:
- Previous experience in signage, graphics, printing or a related production setting. Training can be given.
