About the Role:
Are you someone who enjoys working with plants, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and likes a calm, focused night shift? We're looking for a Baby Leaf Production Operative to join our dedicated team in Sandwich, caring for our baby lettuce crops in a high-tech growing environment.
You'll be the person who ensures our plants are thriving through the night - monitoring systems, keeping everything clean and running efficiently, and helping to grow beautiful, healthy leaves ready for harvest.
What You'll Do:
🌿 Monitor growing systems and respond promptly to alarms or alerts.
💧 Clean and maintain filters twice per night to keep systems running smoothly.
🌱 Accurately mix and prepare fertilisers and nutrients, twice nightly.
💻 Use simple computer systems to record data and monitor crop performance.
✨ Maintain high hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
🔄 Communicate effectively with the day team for smooth handovers.
What We're Looking For:
- A keen interest in gardening, horticulture, or food production.
- Experience in a food production or agricultural environment (preferred but not essential).
- Comfortable using computers and monitoring software.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently at night.
- Great attention to detail and pride in your work.
