Powder Coating Technician

Location: Buntingford, Hertfordshire

Salary: to £15.00 per hour | 40 hrs/week | Shifts: Monday to Friday | Early / Lates Rotating

Contract: Temp-to-Perm

We are seeking an experienced Powder Coating Technician to join a busy production team.

This is a 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with hours 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Possibility of early and late shift being introduced, so ideally flexibility is required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare components for finishing: cleaning, degreasing, masking and hanging parts.
  • Operate powder spray booth and curing ovens safely and efficiently.
  • Apply powder coatings to meet specified finish, colour and thickness standards.
  • Carry out routine quality checks and final inspections; correct defects or report issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organised work area and perform basic routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Follow health & safety procedures, COSHH and environmental controls for coating operations.
  • Record production data and complete required paperwork.

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience as a powder coater or in a similar finishing role.
  • Strong understanding of powder coating process, spray techniques and oven curing.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality finishes.
  • Ability to work standing for prolonged periods and handle parts of varying size and weight.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work within a team environment.
  • Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.
