Location: Ramsgate, Kent
Pay: £18.71 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
Contract: Temporary ongoing

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Port Fitter with proven experience to help keep the Port and Harbour operations running safely and smoothly. From harbour boats and generators to vehicles, forklifts, heavy plant and EV fleet vehicles, you'll play a vital role in keeping essential equipment in top condition.
🌟 WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You'll be at the heart of our maintenance operation, responsible for:
🔩 Servicing and maintaining vehicles, plant machinery, EVs and specialist port equipment
🚤 Working on harbour boats, boat hoists and standby generators
⚡ Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on conventional and electric vehicles
🛠 Preparing vehicles for MOT and undertaking refurbishments and repairs
📋 Creating and maintaining service records and the asset register
🧹 Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
⚠ Ensuring all work complies with safety legislation (PUWER, LOLER and manufacturer guidelines)
🦺 Contributing to Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
🔍 Carrying out daily maintenance checks and reporting defects
👷 WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You'll be practical, safety-focused and ready to work with modern vehicle technology. Ideally, you will have:
✅ Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
✅ HGV Class C Licence (Desirable)
✅ NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
✅ Experience working with Electric and Hybrid Vehicles (EV)
⚡ EV qualification (desirable)
✅ Counterbalance Forklift Licence (Desirable)
💡 Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
🤝 A positive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
