📅 Temporary 3-Month Contract
💷 £19.33 per hour days shift, £25.90 per hour night shift
|⏰ 37 hours per week - Weekend Work Required
We are looking for an experienced Port Control Officer to join a busy maritime operation in Ramsgate.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of vessels, providing a Local Port Service and monitoring vessel traffic within the harbour and marina areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and regulate vessel movements.
- Allocate berths and coordinate vessel arrivals.
- Operate and monitor VHF, radar and AIS systems.
- Provide weather, tidal and navigational information.
- Liaise with masters, pilots, Coastguard and emergency services.
- Respond to incidents and emergencies when required.
- Maintain accurate operational and statutory records.
- Support safe and efficient port operations.
What We're Looking For
- Previous port, harbour or marine operations experience.
- Radar operational experience.
- VHF Radio Telephony Licence.
- Radar Operator qualification.
- IOSH qualification.
- Good knowledge of COLREGS.
- Excellent communication and situational awareness.
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Good IT skills and ability to work independently.
Desirable: STCW CoC 2/11 or higher and V103 qualification.
🕐 Important
This is a 24/7 operation, so you must be available for day and night shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
