Non Emergency Call Advisor - Wakefield
Pay Rate:
Weekdays - £10.09
Nights and Saturdays £13.62
Sundays and Bank Holidays £17.15
Shift pattern 24/7 (3 out of 4 weekends)
Training is for 10 weeks at either Wakefield or Rotherham - the first 6 weeks would be full time and would need to be attended for all 6 weeks. There will another week that would be classroom based to consolidate learning, this will usually be between week 10 and week 14
Job Role Summary
As a Health Advisor for the Integrated Urgent Care service, you will be the first point of contact of communication with patients, patients' relatives, healthcare professionals and other callers. Using NHS Pathways to record patients' demographics and basic clinical information, you will assess their condition and ensure they are directed to the most appropriate healthcare professional or end disposition.
You will provide assessment, basic advice and health information to patients calling 111, supporting them to access the appropriate level of care including advice to manage their symptoms at home
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent, including English
Valid Driving License
Experience Required
Effective communicator (both verbal and written)
Good listening skills
IT literate
Ability to deal with confidential/sensitive and distressing information
Able to work under pressure
Knowledge of health and safety issues
Excellent telephone manner
Effective social skills gained from experience dealing with the public
Customer service skills
An understanding of the call handling and telephone triage roles
