Skilled MIG Welder / Fabricator

Location: Bury St. Edmunds (easy access from the A14)

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:45 and Friday: 07:00 - 13:00

We are recruiting an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator to join a well-established and reputable precision engineering company based in the Bury St. Edmunds area.

You will be responsible for MIG welding and fabrication work, primarily using mild steel plate ranging from 10-15mm, ensuring all work is completed accurately to engineering drawings and meets the company's high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • MIG welding mild steel plate (10-15mm)
  • Fabrication of components to technical drawings
  • Ensuring all work meets quality and specification requirements
  • Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
  • Working safely and in line with company health & safety procedures
  • Working both independently and as part of a skilled team

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Significant experience in MIG welding
  • Proven experience welding 10-15mm plate
  • Strong background in metal fabrication
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong awareness of health & safety
  • Good communication skills and team-working ability

Qualifications:

  • Relevant vocational or trade qualification in welding or metal fabrication (preferred)
