HRGO Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established metal processing and recycling company for full-time Metals & Alloys Sorters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with relevant industry experience and a strong background in the identification, sorting and grading of metals and revert materials.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working with high-performance alloys and be confident using handheld XRF analysers. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established business offering long-term progression and development opportunities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Accurately sort and grade incoming revert materials using XRF analysers
  • Ensure materials are correctly segregated by alloy type, quality and intended end use
  • Identify, assess and report contamination within materials
  • Identify foreign attachments, coatings, inserts, tips and repair welds
  • Maintain strict controls to prevent cross-contamination
  • Accurately record and report sorting findings using internal systems
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Work closely with the production team
  • Report directly to the Production Manager
  • Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures

About You:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience sorting and grading metals within the scrap or revert industry
  • Good understanding of different materials and end-user requirements
  • Proven ability to recognise and differentiate a wide range of high-performance alloys
  • Strong understanding of quality requirements and contamination risks
  • Experience working with high-specification sectors such as aerospace, defence, medical or energy is desirable
  • Competent in the use of handheld XRF analysers - essential
  • Strong written communication and organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, accurate and safety-conscious approach to work
