Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Mechanical Service Engineer to join our client's growing team. This is a field-based role that involves the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of our blasting equipment at customer sites. The role offers a varied and interesting workload, ideal for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background and a proactive, customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Travel to customer sites to install, commission, service, and repair blasting and surface finishing equipment.
Carry out detailed assessments of machine condition and complete accurate service reports.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues, particularly during emergency breakdowns.
Identify and recommend improvements to equipment efficiency or productivity while on site.
Undertake fitting, welding, and basic fabrication tasks during on-site repairs and renewals.
Essential Requirements:
Full UK Driving Licence.
Strong mechanical engineering skills.
Basic electrical knowledge.
Experience in fitting, welding, and on-site fabrication.
Excellent communication skills with both customers and internal staff.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work weekends, unsociable hours, and stay overnight as required.
