Location: Huntingdon - St. Neots - Sandy area
Type: Permanent, Office-Based
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (DOE)
Own transport required due to site location
About the Company

With a reputation for innovation and quality, the company is expanding its talented design team and is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of bespoke automated machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Create detailed 3D and 2D mechanical designs using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery
Support the full lifecycle of machinery design, from concept through to production
Essential Requirements
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
Solid background in mechanical design, ideally within machinery or automation
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Experience liaising with suppliers for pricing and lead times
Desirable Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience in machining, welding, and fabrication
Previous exposure to food machinery design and related systems
Working knowledge of:
Steam systems and energy calculations
Fluid systems, pumps, and piping
Pneumatics
Stress and load calculations
Motor and gearbox sizing
Sheet metal development
Machined part tolerances
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Overtime opportunities may be available
