Job Specification POSITION: Materials Coordinator (Graduate) LOCATION: Sherburn HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:15 -5:00 SALARY: £25,000p/a REF: VR/00791 Job Specification Ensuring material availability is key within company to ensure we can achieve customers delivery dates. The Materials team is a busy, fast paced, demanding environment. We are looking for someone to immerse themselves in the day to day workings of all aspects of a materials department, learning each part of the function, challenging processes and procedures with a view to making improvements. Liaising with different business units and different sites to see how each part of the business works; therefore some travel will be a requirement of the role. Gaining knowledge to update SOP's, review SAP upgrades, identifying training requirements etc. The successful candidate will also be working on key initiatives. These will include a variety of projects with the management team to continuously improve our material processes. These projects will include: * SAP improvements to stream-line the ordering process and improve just in time material delivery. * Aged stock and costs reductions * OTIF reduction * Internal steel damage reduction * Liaise with supplier to improve packaging labelling * Improvements to coil slitting line processes. * Continuous improvement projects covering KPI's, improve complaints cost recovery process and team development etc. The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience: * 2:1 in a business management, business development or commercially related degree. * Excellent organisational skills * Ability to make decisions, to look at current processes and be able to identify areas of improvement * Ability to demonstrate strong leadership and influential skills and a strong desire to manage teams. * The ability to remain professional and maintain a calm demeanour under pressure. * Good negotiation skills and the ability to deal with all levels of personnel within the customer's organisation. * Strong analytical skills and the ability to problem solve to a positive outcome. * The ability to work as part of a team. * Must hold a full driving licence This this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a career in Materials and to fast track into a management role and become a key member of the UK & Ireland management team.
