Machine Operator
Summary of the role
We are looking to employ a Label Converter and Print Operator at our clients growing business in Wellington, Somerset.
As an operator you will play a crucial role in our production process, helping us to create labels for a range of businesses in food and drink, cosmetics, manufacturing and more.
This will involve the use of leading converting technology to produce labels with a range of finishes and embellishments. In addition to this, you will receive training on our industry leading HP digital printing presses and gain experience in our vital dispatch area. We will also provide training to applicants who do not have print experience but come from manufacturing backgrounds.
Across all aspects of this role, you will work alongside our fantastic team, who provide our customers with high levels of quality and support that help their businesses to grow.
Job description
The successful candidate will:
Work in label conversion, with the opportunity to learn print and dispatch, as part of the self-adhesive label production process.
Have a logical, problem-solving attitude to their work and an aptitude for setting, operating and maintaining technical machinery.
Have a focus on productivity, taking pride in reducing change over times and increasing machine efficiency and have an understanding about how this affects the overall production flow.
Work as part of a larger production team to ensure that the scheduled jobs are completed in good time so that customer deadlines can be met.
Once trained, will enjoy working unsupervised and will take responsibility of productive output and serviceability of their machine.
Be customer focused, able to read and follow the information on a job ticket so that the customer receives what they have asked for every time.
Be driven by quality, ensuring that all the relevant quality checks and measures are followed to a high standard for every job.
Have a 'right first time' mindset, working to reduce re-work and re-runs that effect the productivity of the team.
About you/Personal specification
We are looking for a candidate that:
Is a confident communicator who likes to work as part of a team
Has worked in manufacturing. Print experience is desirable, but we will always consider applicants with transferable skills.
Has an understanding of efficiency, productivity and quality procedures
Has an eye for detail and accuracy
This is PERM FULL TIME ROLE
Probationary period of 3 months at £10 p hr
After training the pay will increase.
Paid 40 hrs per week which is inclusive of 5 x 30 minute break. BREAKS ARE PAID
Hours are a variety of shifts 7-3/ 10-6/ 9-5- depending on what is needed, so some flexibility is needed
