HRGO are recruiting temp to perm Machine Operatives for our client in Ellesmere Port. This role will require you to safely and efficiently operate machinery to manufacture company products.

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, on Fri finish at 2pm OR 7am-4pm, on Fri finish at 1pm

Location: Ellesmere Port

Pay: £13.45 per hour, paid weekly (breaks are paid)

Key responsibilities

  • Operate machinery safely at all times, promoting a strong Health & Safety culture.

  • Report hazards, near misses and safety concerns promptly and accurately.

  • Manufacture products to required standards of quality, legality, authenticity and customer expectation.

  • Work to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and site procedures at all times.

  • Follow the production plan to achieve site KPIs (e.g., material losses, line efficiency, labour utilisation).

  • Escalate breakdowns and performance issues quickly (e.g., speed, material feed, quality defects) so plans can be updated.

  • Control materials and resources in your area to minimise waste.

  • Use the ERP system correctly, including accurate sign-offs and completion of required production records.

  • Carry out regular quality checks, record results on the ERP system, and highlight any non-conformances.

  • Identify and report discrepancies or missing information within ERP records.

  • Work collaboratively with Production, Warehouse and Purchasing to support effective materials management.

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activity and suggest practical improvements to processes and ways of working.

  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support production.

Skills & experience

  • Strong awareness of safe working practices and willingness to follow procedures.

  • Previous experience in a machine operative role.

  • Basic computer skills (comfortable completing system records).

  • Team player with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
