Job Summary
HRGO Recruitment is seeking a qualified and reliable Heating Engineer to join our client's team as they continue to take on extra projects across the D&G region. Our client works in the Engineering industry, providing heating solutions for Domestic and Commercial properties.

We are looking for engineers who are comfortable with installing various systems and equipment across domestic and commercial locations. This position requires technical expertise, physical stamina, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring that installations are carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The Installer will play a key role in project execution and client satisfaction, particularly with a significant number of air and water source heat pump installations planned over the next 18 months. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor a first-year apprentice who will be working alongside you and the existing installation team.

Duties

  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine installation requirements.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to assemble, install, and secure components.
  • Perform plumbing tasks, including connecting pipes, fittings, and fixtures as required for each project.
  • Make mechanical adjustments and ensure that all installations meet safety standards and quality expectations.
  • Lift heavy materials and equipment safely, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Utilise carpentry skills for framing or structural modifications when necessary.
  • Apply basic mathematical skills for accurate measurement, cutting, and alignment of components.
  • Operate commercial vehicles for transporting materials or equipment to job sites when needed.
  • Assist in troubleshooting installation issues on-site and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Maintain a clean work environment during and after the completion of each project.

Skills

  • Proficiency in welding techniques and the ability to operate various welding equipment safely.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems, including pipe fitting and fixture installation.
  • Mechanical knowledge relevant to system setup and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques.
  • Competence in carpentry tasks related to structural modifications or framing work.
  • Basic mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
  • Experience in operating commercial vehicles, including safe driving of lorries or vans for transporting materials.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail during installation processes.
