HRGO Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Grading Technology to join our client in Chartham, Canterbury.
This is a fantastic temporary-to-permanent opportunity for someone with experience working with grading machinery who is confident leading a team and managing day-to-day operations. You'll play an important role in improving productivity, quality, performance and the overall efficiency of the grading department.
🚜 Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day grading operations and ensure the department runs efficiently.
- Monitor grade-outs, fruit recovery, quality and grader performance.
- Lead, support and coach the grading team to achieve daily targets.
- Work closely with Planning, Quality Control and Engineering teams.
- Liaise with external companies to improve grader performance and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure grading targets and production plans are achieved.
- Coordinate servicing and maintenance of grading equipment.
- Monitor KPIs and support continuous improvement across the department.
- Ensure all paperwork, records and staff hours are completed accurately.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, food safety, hygiene and BRC compliance.
✅ Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working with graders - essential.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Food safety awareness.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach with the ability to use your own initiative.
- Previous management experience is desirable.
- Experience within fresh produce, packing or agriculture would be advantageous.
- A driving licence is not essential, but your own transport would be advantageous due to the location.
