We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to help maintain parks, public open spaces, landscaped areas and recreational facilities across Ashford.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is looking for a hands-on grounds maintenance role with a Monday to Friday working pattern.
The Role
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you'll be responsible for maintaining a variety of outdoor spaces, ensuring they remain clean, safe and well-presented for the local community.
Your duties will include:
- Grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on mowers
- Strimming, edging and hedge cutting
- Pruning shrubs and maintaining flower beds and landscaped areas
- Planting seasonal flowers, trees and shrubs
- General gardening and grounds maintenance duties
- Litter picking and keeping parks and public areas clean and presentable
- Assisting with estate maintenance and seasonal maintenance work
- Safely operating grounds maintenance machinery and equipment
- Following Health & Safety procedures at all times
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this Grounds Maintenance Operative role, you'll need:
- Previous experience in Grounds Maintenance, Gardening, Landscaping, Parks Maintenance, Horticulture, Estate Maintenance or a similar outdoor maintenance role is essential.
- Experience using mowers, ride-on mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters and other grounds maintenance equipment.
- A full, valid UK driving licence is essential, as you'll be driving company vehicles between sites.
- A practical, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Hours
Monday to Friday
7:00am - 4:00pm
