Forklift Truck Operator - New Industrial Water Bottling Site (Dumfries)


Location: Dumfries
Hourly Pay Rate: £12.60 with £50 a month attendance allowance
Hours: Full-time, 8 - 4:30, Monday to Friday

About Us
We're a brand-new industrial water bottling facility based in Dumfries, focused on delivering high-quality bottled water efficiently and sustainably. As we prepare to launch operations, we're looking for an experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Truck Operator to join our growing team and help us build a smooth-running, high-performing operation from the ground up.

The Role
As a Forklift Truck Operator, you'll play a key role in the movement, storage, and loading of goods throughout our new facility. You'll ensure products are handled safely and efficiently, supporting the day-to-day flow of operations. We are looking to bring in a Fork Lift Operator for a minimum period of six months, could lead to more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift machinery in full compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Load and unload goods from trucks, optimising space and ensuring load security.
  • Conduct daily safety checks on forklifts to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with warehouse staff to facilitate the efficient flow of goods.
  • Manage inventory by accurately logging product details and locations using inventory management systems.
  • Adhere to workplace safety standards.
  • Demonstrate expertise in handling various types of loads.
  • Assist in implementing warehouse layout planning to improve productivity and workflow.
  • Contribute to team goals by maintaining high levels of activity and meeting performance targets.

About You:

  • Valid forklift licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck preferred).
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a fast-paced team.
