Job Role: Food Technology Teacher (QTS/Unqualified/ NQT)

Location - Tunbridge Wells, Kent

HRGO Education are in search of a Food Technology Teacher for a progressive SEMH school based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

The school requires a Food Technology Teacher for an immediate start to teach Food Technology to small classes of KS4 SEMH pupils (with additional nurturing needs). The suitable candidate will be passionate about teaching Food Technology and applying the principles of nutrition and healthy eating.

The School are looking for a confident Food Technology Teacher who can teach KS4 and deliver engaging and informative Food Technology lessons daily covering a range of important Life Skills such as researching, budgeting, designing and preparing recipes. There are career progression opportunities for qualified teachers and teaching pathways available for unqualified teachers or NQTs.

The school is located in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and was rated "Good" by Ofsted and is well resourced to support their young people academically and socially. On-site parking is available for staff.

The Food Technology Teacher role:

• Planning and delivering inspiring Food Technology lessons to small classes of pupils with challenging behaviours.
• Schemes of work are in place to support unqualified or NQTs
• Being a positive role model and establishing positive relationships with pupils and helping to develop subject knowledge and social skills
• Working well with other members of school staff to provide a stimulating learning environment in the Maths department and around the whole school

What you will need:

• QTS or previous experience teaching Food Technology (Unqualified teachers or graduates with the right experience and personality will be considered)
• A real desire to make a positive difference to the pupils you work with
• Strong behaviour management, a confident personality, and creative ideas
• Organised, reliable, friendly, hard-working, and resilient with a good sense of humour
• Enhanced DBS or one in progress
