MIN 2 years' experience - 2nd lines of defence - Quality Assurance Reviews Medium to large corporates + FI.
Maintaining an exceptional awareness of current Financial Crime regulations and legislation and ensuring that changes are reflected in the Bank's policy and procedures.
Acting as the supporting subject matter expert in the 2nd line of defence and a point of contact for the 1st line of defence functions on all financial crime matters (AML; CTF; ABC; Sanctions and Tax Evasion), including advising the business on how to interpret and implement Financial Crime Policies and Procedures and submitting exceptions to policy to the second line Compliance and Legal Department.
Undertaking regular Quality Assurance reviews of the CDD files for Wholesale and Retail customers and submitting the findings and recommendations.
Assisting in conducting Financial Crime Risk Assessments and delivery of FCP Monitoring Plan Reviews.
Conducting Wholesale and Retail periodic and trigger event reviews escalated to the FCP Team for approval.
Supporting the Team with the Trade Finance screening hits escalations and investigations.
Maintaining department risk trackers and proactively following up to ensure timely completion of action points.
Sending Sanctions Risk Register out to all staff when new updates have been made.
Conducting financial crime horizon scanning, regulatory news and preparing internal financial crime updates and record keeping.
Providing support where necessary reviewing and carrying out investigations of adverse media alerts generated from the Bank's CDD systems and issue trigger events to the CDD Department, liaising with the CDD analyst in charge on updates and content and providing advisory where required.
Working closely with and supporting the MLRO and FCP Team Manager, including providing cover during temporary absences from the office.
Maintaining and keeping up to date, regular Management Information as it pertains to the FCP Team.
Ensuring that own continuous training and development is maintained.
Supporting the MLRO in collation of MI for MLRO Reports and Head Office parent returns, as necessary.
Aiding the FCP Team as required.
Financial Crime related certification preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail and good application of the risk-based approach.
Practical knowledge and experience of the following: JMLSG, ML Regs, POCA 2002, 4/5EUMLD, The Bribery Act 2010, International Sanctions.
Knowledge of / previous experience in Trade Based Money Laundering is desirable.
Transactional Monitoring experience is desirable.
An understanding of organisational structures and experience of the breadth of Financial Crime requirements for a range of corporate and FI entities both in the UK and overseas is essential.
Proven experience in entity types such as, Funds, SPVs, Trusts, Foundations, Charities and LLPs;
