About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and compassionate Family Support Coordinator to join a well-established community organisation supporting families with young children across the local area.

The successful candidate will deliver a combination of family support services, early years activities and group-based interventions designed to improve children's development, wellbeing and readiness for education.

Working directly with families, children and community partners, you will provide practical and emotional support, helping parents build confidence while promoting positive outcomes for young children during their crucial early years.

This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about supporting families, reducing barriers to opportunity and making a lasting difference within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support to families in community and home settings.
  • Deliver structured early years and child development activities.
  • Facilitate parent and child group sessions.
  • Assess family needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Support children's social, emotional and developmental progress.
  • Coordinate and oversee volunteers involved in family support activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes.
  • Liaise with schools, health professionals and external agencies.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working with families, children, early years services or community-based programmes.
  • Experience delivering family-centred support or early intervention services.
  • A strong understanding of child development and family wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • A caring, empathetic and professional approach.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting or supervising volunteers.
  • Experience facilitating group activities, workshops or family sessions.
  • Experience working alongside schools, healthcare professionals or community organisations.
  • A background in family support, early help, children's services or a similar setting.
