We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and hardworking General Maintenance Operative to join their team. This is a varied, hands-on position that would suit someone with experience in gardening and cleaning who enjoys a diverse workload.
Working across the site, you will be responsible for maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas to a high standard, ensuring the premises remain clean, safe and well presented.
Key Responsibilities
General gardening and grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding and planting.
Cleaning buildings, equipment and communal areas.
Using cleaning chemicals and products safely in accordance with company procedures.
Carrying out general housekeeping and site maintenance duties.
Operating gardening equipment and cleaning machinery where required.
Reporting maintenance issues and health and safety concerns.
Assisting with additional site duties as required.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience in gardening, grounds maintenance or landscaping.
Previous cleaning experience, ideally within a commercial or industrial environment.
A practical, hands-on approach with good attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A flexible attitude and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks.
Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
Essential Requirements
Full UK driving licence - essential.
Comfortable working with strong cleaning chemicals and fumes (appropriate PPE will be provided).
Physically fit and able to carry out manual work, including lifting, bending and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
A good understanding of health and safety procedures.
