Job Role: Engagement Tutor/ Behaviour Mentor

Location - Tunbridge Wells, Kent

HRGO Education are in search of an Engagement Tutor/ Behaviour Mentor that can support young people with their learning and help manage their emotions.

HRGO Education are recruiting for a progressive "Nurturing school" based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. They are seeking an engagement tutor/ behaviour mentor with a passion for supporting young people with SEMH (additional nurturing needs).

The school was rated "Good" by Ofsted and are well resourced to support the additional needs of their young people. Engagement tutors/ behaviour mentors will support pupils academically and socially. The school has small class sizes (10 or less) with Teachers and support staff working together to create a stimulating learning environment.

The school has on-site parking and is close to local public transport links. It is surrounded by the local areas of Tonbridge and Sevenoaks.

The Engagement Tutor/Behaviour Mentor role:

• Helping the class teachers and supporting pupils in KS2-KS4 to manage their behaviour and improve their social confidence
• Working 1:1 and with small groups of pupils to support their learning
• Being a positive role model and establishing positive relationships with pupils and helping to develop their social skills.
• Working well with other members of school staff to provide a stimulating learning environment.

What HRGO Education are looking for:

• Previous classroom experience or SEMH/SEND /Social work support background.
• A desire to learn new SEMH teaching strategies and skills to best support students.
• Be able to comfortably work 1:1 with pupils and build positive relationships.
• Organised, reliable, friendly, hard-working and resilient with a good sense of humour.
• Enhanced DBS or one in progress.
