Electrical Assembly and Test Technician

  • Salary to £ 40,560 per year (equivalent up to £20.00 per hour)
  • Overtime paid at time-and-a-half
  • Permanent Position, Factory-based
  • Location: in the Cambourne - St. Neots area, Bedfordshire
  • 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • 07:30 start with an early finish every Friday (12:00 midday)
  • Rural / out-of-town location - own transport required

A leading manufacturer of bespoke food processing systems is recruiting an Electrical Assembly and Test Technician.

You'll be wiring complete machines, carrying out functional testing/I-O checks, basic fault-finding, and supporting electrical work across the factory.

Key duties

  • Machine wiring (sensors, motors, actuators, interconnects)
  • Read schematics/layout drawings/BOMs
  • Functional testing + basic fault-finding
  • Assist with installs, upgrades and improvement projects

Essential

  • Machine wiring/industrial electrical assembly background
  • Confident reading drawings and fault diagnosis
  • Experience with DOL and VFD systems
  • Good teamwork and attention to quality/safety

Desirable

  • 18th Edition
  • PLC/HMI exposure
  • Installation experience

Career Progression

Development routes available into Controls Engineering (PLC/HMI), Test & Validation, Electrical Design (EPLAN/BOMs/layouts) and Commissioning (UK & international).

Hours & Overtime:

  • 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday (early finish Friday)
  • Overtime generally available and paid at 1.5x (Mon-Fri and Saturday mornings)
