Location: Ashford, Kent
Pay: £17.92 per hour
Hours: 14 hours per week
Working Pattern: Tuesday-Friday, 5:30pm-9:00pm
Contract: 6-month temporary contract, with potential to extend
Start: End of October

HRGO Recruitment are recruiting for a Data Entry Supervisor to join a busy Port Health team based in Ashford.

This role will involve supervising a team of six Data Entry Assistants while also supporting the processing of goods entering the UK. You will oversee document checking, charging of consignments, AI-assisted checks and the quality and accuracy of the team's work.

Duties will include:

  • Supervising and managing a team of six Data Entry Assistants.
  • Allocating workloads and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Processing and charging low and medium-risk consignments entering the UK.
  • Completing and overseeing online document checks.
  • Using an AI system to assist with checks and manually reviewing discrepancies.
  • Auditing team members' work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Providing training, coaching and ongoing support to the team.
  • Conducting 1-2-1s and supporting performance management where required.
  • Handling more complex customer or agent enquiries and resolving issues.
  • Updating working practices and processes where required.
  • Using Excel and internal systems to maintain accurate records.
  • Supporting and deputising for senior team members when required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous supervisory or team management experience.
  • Strong administration, data entry or customer service experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Comfortable learning and working across multiple IT systems.
  • Experience training or coaching team members.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to make decisions independently and work effectively under pressure.

Previous experience within Port Health, logistics, import/export, customs or public-sector administration would be advantageous but is not essential.

An A Level or equivalent qualification, or an NVQ Level 3 in Customer Service or Administration, would also be desirable.

Full training will be provided on the specialist systems and processes used within the role.
