Data & Automation Developer | Power BI, Power Platform & AI Innovation | £37k-£41k + Bonus + PMI | Dorset

Salary: £37,000 - £41,000 DOE + Benefits + Bonus scheme
Location: Dorset (primarily office-based, with some flexibility)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Opportunity

A growing organisation is seeking a Data & Automation Developer to support its digital transformation and AI adoption strategy.

Reporting to the IT Director, you'll help teams across the business improve decision-making, streamline processes and unlock the value of their data through Power BI,

Power Platform and AI-driven solutions.

This is a varied, hands-on role that combines data analytics, automation development and emerging AI technologies, giving you the opportunity to make a genuine impact across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Analyse, transform and visualise data from multiple sources.
  • Build solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse.
  • Develop automation workflows that improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude.
  • Support data governance, security and GDPR-compliant data handling.
  • Explore innovative approaches using AI, automation and potentially Python-based solutions.

About You

Essential

  • Proven experience in a Data Analyst, BI Developer, Power Platform Developer or similar role.
  • Strong Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling and dashboard creation.
  • Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Passion for automation, innovation and continuous improvement.

Desirable

  • SQL and/or Python experience.
  • API integrations and automation experience.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure or Copilot Studio.
  • Experience implementing AI solutions within a business environment.

Working Pattern

The organisation values face-to-face collaboration, so candidates should be comfortable spending most of their time in the Dorset office. Some hybrid flexibility may be available for the right person.
