CNC Turner - Precision Engineering

Compensation:

• Base salary of up to £17.00 per hour (£34,500 per annum)
• Overtime pay of up to £25.50 per hour (Time and a Half of the hourly rate)
• Excellent earning potential with ample hours available
• Standard work week of 39 hours with a Friday finish at 12:00 mid-day

Location:

• Based in the Cambourne - Gamlingay - St. Neots area
• Own transport required due to location

We are in search of a proficient CNC Turner to join our client's precision engineering team. The ideal candidate should possess the skills to set up, operate, and program CNC Lathes, with a specific interest in experience with Doosan 3 axis Lathes and Haas machines.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and program Doosan 3 axis Lathes and Haas machines to produce precision components as per engineering specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to determine machining operations and set up requirements.
• Utilise measuring equipment like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure the accuracy and quality of machined components.
• Inspect finished components to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the machining process.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring proper maintenance and servicing of machines.
• Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and enhance efficiency.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a secure working environment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner.
• Beneficial to have experience operating Doosan 3 axis Lathes and Haas machines.
• Proficient in setting up, operating, and programming CNC lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Strong knowledge of measuring equipment and effective usage.
• Attention to detail with the ability to inspect components for quality and accuracy.
• City & Guilds qualifications or apprenticeship in Engineering would be advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Hours:

• 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Early finish on Fridays).
• Start time: 7:30 am.
• Finish times: Monday 4:00 pm, Tuesday 4:30 pm, Wednesday & Thursday 5:00 pm, and Friday 12:00 mid-day.
