5 axis setter operator CNC machining centre opportunity within this subcontract precision engineering company.

  • A 38‑hour week with a 12pm finish on Fridays

  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays

Key responsibilities
* Set and operate 5-axis machining centres (Mazak Integrex and/or DMG Mori experience desirable)
* Produce components to engineering drawings, specifications and tight tolerances
* Select and set tooling and workholding equipment
* Carry out in-process quality checks using standard measuring equipment
* Work with a range of materials.
* Complete basic machine alignments as required
* Comply with Health & Safety requirements at all times
* Maintain ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards throughout the process

Skills & experience
* Apprentice-trained or time-served engineer (City & Guilds or BTEC level preferred)
* Proven experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC mills or machining centres in a precision engineering environment
* Good understanding of control software.
* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute positively to a team
* Flexibility with working hours when required to meet customer deadlines
