CNC Millers opportunity in this growing sub contract aerospace precision engineering company. This exceptional company has a great reputation as an employer of choice, offering stable and supportive career roles.
The successful candidate will set up, operate and optimise 3-axis milling machines using Fanuc or Heidenhain controls, delivering high-quality components to tight tolerances.
Key responsibilities:
- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines, performing tool changes, offsets and test cuts
- Work as a setter/operator: read drawings, select fixtures and tooling, perform machine set-ups and first-off inspections
- Monitor production, carry out quality checks and maintain accurate process documentation
- Diagnose and resolve routine machine and program issues; suggest improvements to reduce scrap and cycle time
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow health & safety procedures
Skills and experience required:
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller / Setter-Operator on 3-axis mills
- Proficient with Fanuc or Heidenhain controls
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
- Competent using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Relevant apprenticeship or engineering qualification would be an advantage.
- Experience with job planning, setting fixtures and optimising cycle times
- Basic CNC maintenance experience
