Part time CNC Milling Machinist ( Setting, Programming and Operating)
My Client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Setter/Programmer/Operator who is looking to reduce their hours or still wants to maintain a few days working in a trade they love. Job type: Part Time- Part Time: 2 day week (Tue, Wed) with option of overtime ( after 39 hours) / additional days
Reports to: Foundry Operations Manager
About My Client:
My Client is a long-established, foundry supplying ferrous and non-ferrous castings to sectors including power generation, engine components, oil & gas, marine, pumps and compressors, construction, rail, agriculture and architecture.
Role & Responsibilities:
Set and operate CNC milling and some vertical turning lathes with G-code and Fanuc controls
Set and operate machining centres up to 4-axis with G-code controls
Programme new work and set existing programmes for small volume batch runs
Select and set up tooling for a range of components (1kg to 750kg) in grey and nodular irons and aluminium
Work accurately from customer machining drawings and 3D models
Design and manufacture jigs and fixtures from scratch
Ensure adherence to all health & safety and safe working practices
Maintain a clean, organised work area and contribute to continuous improvement
Requirements:
Previous experience as a CNC Miller in a similar environment
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing techniques
Confident checking component dimensions using a range of inspection equipment
Ability to produce components to drawing tolerances and specifications
Good organisational skills, problem-solving ability and efficiency
