👮♂️ Civil Enforcement Officer
📍 Location: Thanet Area
🕒 Job Type: Temp to Perm
💷 Salary: £14.87 per hour
📅 Hours: 37 hours per week (3-week rota, between 6:30am - 10:00pm)
🔍 About the Role:
We are looking for motivated, community-minded individuals to join the Civil Enforcement Team at the local Council. You'll play a vital role in ensuring traffic and parking regulations are followed throughout the Thanet District, helping the Council meet the objectives of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
A full clean UK driving licence and willingness to undergo a Standard DBS check is essential.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities:
🚗 Enforce parking restrictions across the district in line with TMA 2004
📝 Issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for illegally parked vehicles
📸 Collect accurate evidence when issuing PCNs
🧾 Perform daily checks on pay & display machines; report issues
🅿️ Carry out weekly car park inspections
⚠️ Identify and report damaged/missing signage or faded lines
🙋 Assist the public with council-related enquiries
👮 Work with CCTV, Streetscene Enforcement, and police on joint ops
🚘 Investigate and process abandoned vehicle cases
✅ Requirements:
📘 Basic understanding of traffic laws & Highway Code
🗺️ Strong knowledge of the Thanet area
💻 Basic computer skills
🚗 Full, clean UK driving licence
🗣️ Excellent verbal and written communication
💪 Physically fit and able to work in all weather
🤝 Team player with the ability to work independently
🔍 High attention to detail
📌 Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
