Hours: 37 hours per week (3-week rota, between 6:30am - 10:00pm)
We are looking for motivated, community-minded individuals to join the Civil Enforcement Team at the local Council. You'll play a vital role in ensuring traffic and parking regulations are followed throughout the Thanet District, helping the Council meet the objectives of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
A full clean UK driving licence and willingness to undergo a Standard DBS check is essential.
๐ Enforce parking restrictions across the district in line with TMA 2004
๐ Issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for illegally parked vehicles
๐ธ Collect accurate evidence when issuing PCNs
๐งพ Perform daily checks on pay & display machines; report issues
๐
ฟ๏ธ Carry out weekly car park inspections
โ ๏ธ Identify and report damaged/missing signage or faded lines
๐ Assist the public with council-related enquiries
๐ฎ Work with CCTV, Streetscene Enforcement, and police on joint ops
๐ Investigate and process abandoned vehicle cases
๐ Basic understanding of traffic laws & Highway Code
๐บ๏ธ Strong knowledge of the Thanet area
๐ป Basic computer skills
๐ Full, clean UK driving licence
๐ฃ๏ธ Excellent verbal and written communication
๐ช Physically fit and able to work in all weather
๐ค Team player with the ability to work independently
๐ High attention to detail
๐ Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
