Working Hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday and weekends when required
HRGO is working with a fantastic company who work in the Environmental Services who provide a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of the residents and community in North Norfolk. With a professional, dedicated, and friendly team of Refuse and Recycling staff, we ensure that streets, homes, and businesses are kept clean, safe and tidy, whilst providing the very best levels of customer service to all members of the community that we serve. And right now, we have an opportunity for a Charge-hand to join our team of essential workers and help us make a positive difference to the environment we all live in.
The main purpose of this role is to act as a working charge-hand on the ground, supporting the Supervisors and directly overseeing and organising refuse and cleansing operations
You will Organise staff working rota and arrange holiday and sickness cover, Issue work instructions to operational staff, monitor staff performance, report under performance and non-compliance, Removing fly tips and animal carcasses from the highway, driving LGV's, Required to be on out of hours rota, Complete litter bin round, Complete bagged waste clearance, Occasional Supervisor holiday and sickness cover and any other duties as required.
Furthermore the role will at times involve difficult lifting and a high level of concentration whilst working on busy roads; so you must be willing to work in all different types of weather, be prepared to get your hands dirty and be fine with the physical element of the work.
About You
It is essential that you have an HGV license and you will have good organisational and people management skills and any supervisory / management qualifications or training is desirable.
We are looking to hear from candidates who are self-motivated and have a passion for the this industry, are able to put forward any suggestions and ideas for improvements to the service, able to train unskilled workers in basic equipment and maintenance, to be prepared for training to improve skills levels and further knowledge and to understand and assist with achieving any contractual key performance indicators.
