Cemeteries and Crematorium Operative

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cemeteries and Crematorium Operative to join the team at the local Crematorium's.

As a Cemeteries and Crematorium Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of our cemeteries and crematoriums to the highest standards. You will work both independently and as part of a team to carry out ground's maintenance tasks, ensuring that the grounds are always well-kept and presentable.

The ideal candidate would have formal training by a recognised body and certificates in petrol strimming, ride on mowers & hedge trimmers.

A full clean driving licence is required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform grounds maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, strimming, and hedge cutting using power tools and sit on mowers.
- Perform memorial stability testing, full training will be given.
- Work independently or as part of a team to ensure that the grounds are well-maintained
- Conduct daily maintenance checks to ensure that equipment is in good working order
- Act and always operate any equipment in accordance with Health and Safety requirements.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness throughout the cemeteries and crematoriums
- Undertake any other duties, which may be reasonably required.

Requirements:

- Formal training and certificates from a recognised body in petrol strimming, ride on mower (triple, rotary & stand rotary) hedge trimmers and pole cutting
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to grounds maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a sensitive and respectful manner
