  • JOB TITLE: Case Officer & Service Support (Remote and part time)
  • LOCATION: Shepton Mallet
  • HOURLY PAY: £10.90p/h
  • LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: 3 months with opportunity for extension
  • HOURS: 20 hours per week - 4 hours per day/5 mornings per week, however there is a great deal of flexibility to suit the right candidate

HRGO Recruitment are looking for a temporary member of staff to help out with some technical IT/admin support in the Customer Focus and Support Team for local authority.

The ideal person would have a lot of office/admin/IT experience - any knowledge of Community Health would be useful, but the role is heavily weighted towards the IT skills.


To work as a multi-skilled case officer processing applications and providing technical support, through knowledge and experience, to members of the public, businesses and to other colleagues within the Council. The post holder will embrace a culture of excellent customer service and make sure the services they contribute to are delivered to the highest possible standard, whether statutory or as a matter of policy.


  • Previous work experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and skills.
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public.
  • Experience of case managing service requests.
  • Experience of working with a variety of databases and generating reports for performance management and audit purposes.
  • Experience of supporting services to meet legislative data requirements.
  • Regular contact with businesses and members of the public investigating cases where they will offer advice, negotiate and influence behaviour to seek satisfactory outcomes under the supervision of the SEHP/EHP.
  • Contact with staff across the organisation where they will be collaborating, advising & providing information to enable the Council to deliver satisfactory outcomes.
  • Regular contact with business representatives, internal and external partners and members of the public by mainly telephone or e-mail, to provide information, advice, process licences and seek satisfactory outcomes to service requests.
  • The post holder will have contact with external partners using consultation procedures and they will be expected to take advantage of working together to maximise shared outcomes. They will have limited contact with officers of other local authorities.
