THE POSITION
As Carpenter / Loft Conversion Project Manager/ Team Leader, you will lead a project team on all domestic projects ( loft conversion / bespoke building projects ). Your responsibilities will be:
supervision & leadership of all labour on site
responsibility for quality control & safety on site
oversee / monitor productivity (in-house / contractor )
all project administration / customer liaison
working to project plans / timetables to ensure customer satisfaction

Our client is a specialist in Property Development, Loft & Home Conversion and Luxury Lifestyle Services, including full house renovations & bespoke construction projects. With a strong network of loyal customers, and a well-earned reputation for outstanding quality and customer care, they are undergoing a rapid expansion phase. Based in North Somerset, work is undertaken mainly in & around Portishead, Bristol, Clevedon, Weston-S-Mare, Bridgwater & Taunton.
THE PERSON
As Builder/Carpenter, solid practical experience in loft conversions is essential, as this is the core business of the company. Ambitious, target orientated, customer focused and reliable you must have the following practical construction skills:
roof configuration
floorplan installation - joists & steel work
dormer construction
1st and 2nd fix carpentry
understanding of electrics & plumbing etc
ability to read / understand architects' drawings / structural calculations
knowledge of building control inspections / regulations
Site Manager - Day to day quality control, liaison and supervision of all sub-contractors, professionals and suppliers who enter your site.
Overall, your role is to ensure each project reaches its maximum potential (both in appearance and profitability) and each customer receives the very best experience possible.
Project Admin - Record and relay all onsite data back to the office on a weekly basis, in order for the business to record efficiencies, areas for reward/recognition and future learning needs.
TOOLS: You will be expected to have a good quality & selection of tools already.
TRANSPORT: You will be expected to have your own transport, until you have successfully passed your probation. A company vehicle will then be ordered for you.
