HRGO are looking for a Care Manager to work from a residential home in Kettering Northants

You will ensure that the Scheme is fully occupied by managing allocation and management of the scheme. To ensure that the scheme e is safe and compliant and creates a vibrant and inclusive culture for tenants that supports wider integration into the community.

  • Ensure customers receive a high quality and responsive housing & care service which encourages independence and choice
  • Manage the lettings process including sitting on a leading allocation panels to ensure performance targets for voids are met
  • Carry out accompanied viewings, assessment of housing needs and sign-ups to ensure accommodation is appropriate for individuals
  • Identify maintenance and repairs issues in the scheme and report as appropriate
  • To be responsible for ensuring all Health & Safety policies are fully implemented and adhered to at all times, ensuring that any risks are reported and appropriate action taken
  • To be responsible for the review and completion of Risk Assessments as required
  • Carry out 2-4 weeks home visits and undertake 6 monthly tenancy audits or whenever required
  • Provide assistance and support in relation to housing benefit or financial advice relating to rent and service charges
  • Support the Operations Manager with the review of Service Charges
  • Ensure that residents understand their tenancy conditions, rights and responsibilities of their Tenancy Agreement
  • Undertake compliance testing of systems and equipment such as fire alarms on a regular basis or as necessary
  • As Registered Manager, be responsible for the safe delivery of the service in line with legislative requirements and company policy

Skills required for the position

  • Experience of working within an Extra Care setting
  • Ability to understand Financial information and spreadsheets
  • Knowledge and experience of Intensive Housing Management criteria, specifically around allocations, tenancy sustainment, promoting independence and safeguarding
  • Knowledge of the welfare benefits system
  • Experience of supporting people to successfully apply for relevant benefits to maximise income, and support tenancy sustainment
  • Experience of joint working to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable people
  • Genuine passion and enthusiasm for inclusion of groups and individuals with extra support needs
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • High attention to detail
