Engineering Buyer Procurement Buyer Senior Buyer Purchaser across EMEA

Our client a leading world wide manufacturing business are recruiting for a Procurement Buyer or Senior Buyer. Applicants need procurement expertise, within a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment and be MRP/ERP literate

The Procurement Buyer / Senior Buyer will be responsible for the sourcing and supplier management of assigned categories, most likely mechanically engineered products and manufacturing engineering services. The role will entail a blend of operational (around MRP / SAP ) - such as scheduling/re-scheduling of orders, supplier development and negotiations.

Working in their international team, the main function is to place and expedite purchase orders to meet production requirements in the manufacturing facility based on the Herts / Essex border site just off the New Junction on M11 with A120 links ( in the UK )

Specific duties of the jobholder will include:

• Creation and placement of purchase orders to meet demand for our production facility

• Scheduling of purchase orders and delivery schedules as demand dictates

• Maintenance of all purchased cost transactions

• Obtain quotations through tendering ,terms of spend, billing, delivery and after sales support

• Management of supplier performance

• Resolving invoice queries with suppliers and finance

• Maintenance and filing (electronic) of all relevant purchasing and regulatory documents

• Provide professional support to our procurement team for all purchasing related matters

Experience as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Category Buyer or Strategic Buyer within manufacturing or engineering
Experience in taking ownership and resolving supplier issues
MRP/ERP literate and ability to use data to drive decision making
Capable of working under-pressure in a fast-paced environment woith some knowledge of ISOO9001 CIPS membership or other professional qualification or equivalent is advantageous.
