Technical Services Opportunities - Aviation MRO (Stansted)

An established aviation MRO based at Stansted is expanding its Technical Services function and is recruiting for two permanent roles:

  • Technical Services Manager

  • Technical Services Engineer

These positions play a key part in ensuring aircraft maintenance and modifications are delivered safely, compliantly, and on schedule. Relocation support and visa sponsorship may be considered for the right candidates. Salaries are dependent on role and experience.

  1. Technical Services Manager (Mon-Fri | 08:30-17:00)
    Reporting to: General Manager

Role purpose
Lead the Technical Services department to ensure all deliverables meet Part-145 requirements, the company MOE and associated procedures. You will drive the production of high-quality, on-time work packages and release documentation to support safe, efficient engineering delivery and Part-CAMO airworthiness requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the Technical Services team, including resourcing, workload planning, performance feedback, and department facilities/equipment needs.

  • Ensure engineering receive accurate, high-quality work packages on time, and that Part-CAMO customers receive timely, high-quality release documentation.

  • Maintain, review and improve Technical Services procedures and instructions, ensuring they remain current and fully established.

  • Identify, plan and implement improvements to internal and external planning systems and processes.

  • Ensure material flow planning supports production demands; coordinate accurate requisitioning with Purchasing and Stores.

  • Maintain effective customer communication to deliver a consistently excellent customer experience.

  • Ensure the IPR procedure is completed correctly and consistently.

  • Oversee the review/update of technical publications and the MTL following OEM revisions.

  • Lead continuous improvement activity focused on quality, on-time performance, delays, and cost.

  • Oversee Part-145 work report administration and technical records management.

  • Attend manpower planning review meetings.

  • Champion Health & Safety, Technical and Quality compliance; actively support the company safety system.

  • Provide hands-on Technical Services Engineer support when required, plus additional duties as needed.

Authorities

  • Set department priorities and objectives, coordinating delivery across the team.

  • Disciplinary responsibility for Technical Services staff.

  • Request cross-department support and propose training/procedure updates.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing resources effectively with strong leadership capability.

  • Strong customer and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel) and confidence using planning/technical systems.

  • Highly organised, analytical and detail-focused; able to prioritise effectively and work flexibly to meet deadlines.

  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality and complete mandatory training/assessments.

  1. Technical Services Engineer (4 on / 4 off | 07:00-19:00)
    Reporting to: Technical Services Manager

Role purpose
Coordinate aircraft maintenance and modification inputs to protect the critical path and ensure on-time delivery. You will produce accurate work packages, coordinate third-party and Part-21 design activity, and provide clear, professional customer communication from input through return to service.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate complex maintenance/modification projects, removing blockers to protect schedule delivery.

  • Build detailed work packages covering access, spares, tooling, manpower and third-party services, ensuring readiness ahead of downtime.

  • Act as the customer Single Point of Contact for assigned projects, providing daily progress updates and a final report.

  • Coordinate approved third-party vendors and align attendance/time estimates to the critical path.

  • Liaise with Part-21 Design Organisations to support modification activity; ensure documentation meets EASA/Foreign NAA requirements under company approvals.

  • Prepare and chair internal pre-input meetings (Commercial/Engineering/Logistics) and customer pre-input meetings to confirm defects, scope and requirements.

  • Coordinate aircraft acceptance into maintenance and support issue resolution impacting the input plan.

  • Support import/export procedures for base maintenance projects (liaising with shipping agents as required).

  • Review and complete aircraft library documentation (e.g., Technical Log, Deferral Log) during input and at release.

  • Support Document Control with paperwork reviews and resolution of non-conformities.

  • Generate required documentation and support certifying staff through return-to-service.

  • Drive continuous improvement to maximise productivity and minimise cost.

  • Support customer expectation management in conjunction with the SBDM.

Authorities

  • Request support from Stores and Purchasing during the maintenance process.

  • Act as the customer SPOC for assigned inputs.

  • Provide daily progress updates and issue final reports.

  • Adjust work packages in line with customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Technical qualification and/or strong proven experience in aircraft maintenance, project management, or MRO coordination.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in aviation maintenance.

  • Solid understanding of EASA Part-145 and ability to interpret and apply requirements.

  • Demonstrable experience planning maintenance inputs and producing detailed work packages.

  • Experience coordinating third-party vendors and managing outsourced services.

  • Strong working knowledge of aircraft documentation (Tech Logs, Deferral Logs, RTS paperwork).

  • Understanding of import/export procedures for base maintenance.

  • Strong organisation and time management; able to handle multiple concurrent projects.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance planning tools (AMOS or similar).

  • Detail-driven, self-motivated and confidentiality focused; able to complete mandatory training/assessments.
