Accounts Technician

Location: Axminster

We are looking for an Accounts Technician to join a supportive and busy accountancy team. This role is ideal for someone with practice experience who enjoys working with a variety of businesses and has experience preparing VAT returns, bookkeeping, and simple accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare VAT returns and bookkeeping for a range of clients
  • Prepare straightforward financial statements and accounts
  • Assist with general accounting and compliance tasks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Support the wider team with day-to-day accounting duties
  • Participate in team projects and provide office support as needed

About You

  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
  • AAT qualified or Qualified by Experience; ACA/ACCA Part Qualified candidates will also be considered
  • Confident preparing VAT returns, bookkeeping, and straightforward accounts
  • Professional, approachable, and able to build strong relationships
  • Organised, resilient, and able to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
  • Comfortable using standard office software and accounting systems
