HRGO Recruitment are proud to be recruiting an Accounts Assistant for their family owned client who are expanding into new markets and activities due to significant growth. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for administering the company's day to day data operations such as supplier invoices, statements, bank reconciliations, reconciliation of AP and AR accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate purchase invoice, expenses, and payments processes.
  • Help ensure all expenditure is in accordance with budgets and properly authorised.
  • Record bank and cash transactions, help prepare regular reconciliations of cash and bank accounts.
  • Develop good operational understanding of finance systems, internal controls and processes and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Organise and prioritise workloads and work to strict timetables.
  • Assist with finance and audit queries.
  • Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, suppliers, partners, etc.
  • Day to day responsibilities include purchase invoices, cash books, supplier statements and employee expense claims

Qualifications and skills:

  • Appropriate professional certification
  • Good basic financial knowledge and experience
  • MS Excel skills
  • Xero or similar
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to spot errors and mistakes at an early stage
  • Ability to communicate easily with non-finance staff, with experience of interacting with all levels within a business including operational managers - a good networker who can build trusting relationships and can motivate others
  • Ability to prioritise and plan activities taking into account all the relevant issues
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver results to tight deadlines
  • Enthusiasm, resilience, drive, and commitment
  • Strong numeric skills, logic and quick thinking
  • Being discrete, with excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
